New Moon in Libra ~ Open your heart

New Moon in Libra

As we transition the seasons, change is in the air, uncomfortable for some, with others more than ready. Whatever camp you belong to, there is no denying a shift as we enter a new season, and not just a season of the natural world, but also the season of Libra.

This shift in all seasons is often felt energetically. Perhaps you feel excited, or maybe a sense of overwhelm or unsettledness has crept in as you feel the scales of life moving again and the need to adjust.

The New Moon in Libra arrives on 25th September, hot on the heels of the equinox and bringing with it a moment to pause. At last, a softer new moon energy of candy floss clouds, and deep dusky pink vibes of calm. I believe this can be a heart opening new moon for those who choose to lean into it.

The energy of Libra brings love and the relationships in our lives to the fore. It might be the relationships you have with others or the one with yourself, but it’s time to focus in here. At this new moon you may wish to reflect on who you love and how you love. This type of reflection may not always be easy, as it can draw attention to where the balance of our relationships may be skewed, but this can ultimately lead to positive change. It can also help us to simply appreciate the beauty of our current relationships.

A sense of balance and justice

When we work with Libra energy we are also working with a sense of balance and justice. The season of Libra marks the beginning of the time known as ‘ dark of the dark’ in Hellenistic astrology as we move into then darker months of the year in the northern hemisphere. Libra reminds us of the beauty of darkness and going within to reconcile the persona we present to the world with our truest self. There can be a careful weighing up here, an understanding, and a reasoning, where we take time to recalibrate.

A new lunar cycle and a new moon gives the chance to begin again with a fresh perspective. If you’d like to make changes, set some intentions with the new moon energy. Under this Libra New Moon you could start this process with some simple self-enquiry, for example, just taking ten minutes to journal about where you’d like to see more harmony and balance in your life.

Keep things realistic

There is some fiery Jupiter in Aries energy in this new moon mix too! If you feel a sense of being caught between taking bold personal action and trying to liaise diplomatically to make sure everyone is happy, be sure to set any intentions from the heart and not the ego.  Your challenge might be to find some middle ground. Keep things realistic and let simplicity preside.

We are still in Mercury retrograde, so taking things slow and steady is always my motto. If you do set intentions with this new moon, you may find that things flow a little easier with manifesting them after Mercury retrograde ends. (October 2nd), so still plenty of time before the full moon in Aries (October 9th).

This new moon seems to be asking us to keep things simple and honest so that we can come back to our center. Take a breath, open your heart, and let the love flow.

Wishing you a beautiful new moon,
