Solar Eclipse in Aries – let’s begin again…

Solar Eclipse in Aries

The Solar Eclipse in Aries will arrive 19th/ 20th April (depending on your corner of the globe). Visible as a total eclipse from Australia and Southeast Asia, it will signify the start of a powerful new lunar cycle.

If you have been waiting for a shift or perhaps the time to explore what needs to change in your world, this eclipse could be an excellent one to work with.

The energy of this solar eclipse is enhanced by a few factors, not least because it is at 29 degrees of Aries, the last degree of the sign, known as the anaretic degree. Regarded as a powerful point in any sign, an eclipse taking place here has the potential to make a real impact.

A portal for transformation

Eclipses have long been regarded as portals for transformation and can signify a dynamic turning point for some of us. (the extent to how much we may feel this will depend on our natal charts). The symbolism of what happens during a solar eclipse as life-giving sunlight is blocked out by the alignment of the sun, moon, and earth, and then returns, can tell us much.

Energetically we can equate this to potentially feeling in the dark or perhaps things ending. Once the sun is visible again and all is revealed, we emerge from the darkness. It is then we might be prompted to ask – what new beginning can bring light to my life? What new information do I now have to work with?

I like that Aries energy wants us to start things, to be dynamic and to step into our own bravery. As the solar eclipse is taking place in this sign, we may well be asked to embrace our courage, motivation to welcome some kind of transformation or indeed ride the wave of it.

Pluto energy in the mix

Another testament to this is that we also see Pluto energy in the mix, casting a long shadow and maybe making us look at our own. Excavation and transformation are what Pluto specializes in, so be ready for digging deep to renew your energy. There will be more to think on as we go straight into a Mercury retrograde in Taurus (beginning 21st April). This brings an opportunity to press pause, revise and reassess.

I believe the true beauty of an eclipse is the ability to nudge us back onto our life path, even if we can’t see it at the time! Slow down this week if you can, relax and listen in.

Trust that in letting go we get to turn the page and begin again.

With lunar blessings,
