Solar Eclipse in Scorpio – Transformation awaits

Solar Eclipse in Scorpio

And so it begins, eclipse season is upon us. If you are ready (or even if you aren’t) to change up a gear, start something new, or transform in some way, this solar eclipse could be an interesting one!

A solar eclipse occurs when the sun and moon meet in the heavens and sit so snugly that the moon blocks out the sun for a short while from our standpoint on earth. On 25th October we will experience a partial solar eclipse, visible from parts of Europe, Asia and Africa, according to NASA. Eclipses come in pairs with this solar eclipse in Scorpio followed by a lunar eclipse in Taurus later in the month.

This first eclipse heralds a potentially transformative lunar cycle indeed!

Trust the universe

Eclipses are astrologically significant because they bring an energy akin to a turbo charged new moon. There is opportunity for events to nudge us back onto our true soul path at an eclipse. This may not always be a smooth nudge, it may feel jarring for some, so trusting that the universe is ultimately working to support us here is key.

Digging deep and letting go

This solar eclipse is in the sign of Scorpio, happening at a specific degree to the south node. This brings a deep, impactful energy to the fore. A sense of swimming emotional depths, digging deep with your intuition, letting go or shedding something you no longer need are themes to work with or simply be aware of over the next few days.

Venus energy is heavily involved too, drawing attention to our 1:1 relationships. Heart opening, compassionate Venus helps us to pay attention to what may need to shift or change in our relationships to move forward. She also brings our attention to our desires and what we may need to let go of or change our perspective on so that we progress in some way.

Tracking events

The fruits of any events that happen during a solar eclipse are not likely to flourish straight away, but may take some time to play out. It can useful to look back at previous eclipses to note any patterns around what was happening in your life at that time and see if you notice any events that made an impact. The last set of eclipses this year were at the end of April and mid May.

Make no mistake, eclipse energy can be intense, so remember to pause and take a breath. Find ways to ground yourself and make time to slow down a little. Let the Venusian energy of this eclipse remind you that this can be a time of deep healing and compassion, beginning with yourself.
